The 38th IPA Convention and Exhibition Photography Competition “Oil and Gas in Daily Life”

To celebrate the industry’s biggest event in its third
time running, IPA is launching a Photography Competition with the theme “Oil
& Gas in Daily Life”. The Association is inviting industry players and the
wider photography enthusiasts to showcase their unique talents through
snapshots of oil and gas related activities in ways that are close to our daily
lives. The Photography Competition is part of the 38th IPA Convention and
Exhibition organized by the Indonesian Petroleum Association and co-organized
by Dyandra & Co. This is a two round contest, consisting of the
Qualification Round followed by the Final Round.
Qualification Round
The Qualification Round starts on April 4, 2014 and ends on
May 4, 2014. Participants are required to submit their pictures within this
timeframe
Final Round
Participants who have passed the Qualification Round will
enter the Final Round where the Judges will then select the 36 best photographs
to be displayed during the IPA 38th Convention and Exhibition. The Judging
process will be conducted one day before the event.
Entry Period
Entries will be accepted from April 4 – May 4, 2014 at
12.00pm WIB.
Prizes & Awards
The total prize reaches IDR 28 million, along with trophies
and other exciting of goodies.

3rd winner Trophy + Cash Money Rp. 6.000.000

Participant Criteria
The Photography Competition is open to the general public,
excluding professional photographers, employees of the Indonesia Petroleum
Association, members of the 38th IPA Convention and Exhibition Committee, the
Event Organizer staff and its respective contractor(s).
Entry Requirements
Photographs should depict a portrayal and convey the related
theme of “Oil & Gas in Daily Life” as interpreted freely by the
photographer.
Each participant may submit a maximum of two (2) photographs
Accepted images must be graphic files taken with digital
cameras with the file format of JPEG only
Maximum size per JPEG image: 2MB (Max. weight/length 1600
pixels, resolution 300 dpi).
Multiple photographs may not be submitted as one entry.
RGB will be applied as the standard color space during the
judging process.
Submitted photographs must be taken within one (1) year of
the competition entry date and may not have won any previous award(s) from
other competitions.
Only minor burning, dodging color correction and/or cropping
are acceptable.
High dynamic range images (HDR) and stitched panoramas are
NOT acceptable.
Images may be digitally enhanced to remove spots or
scratches, but not manipulated.
Participants may enhance the picture (e.g., edit brightness,
contrast, etc.,) but may not manipulate the content. The judges reserve the
right to exclude any photographs believed to have been excessively altered.
Participants are asked to NOT include a border for their
submitted photographs.
Photographs that include sculptures, statues, paintings, and
other works of art will be accepted as long as they do not constitute copyright
infringement or fraud, provided Participants must be prepared to provide a
release form as described below in “Release.”
When photographing the work of others, it must be as an
object in its environment and not a full- frame close-up of another person’s
art.
Each photograph submitted must not have been submitted in
other competitions, published for any commercial purposes and must be free of
any contractual or other bonds that restrict the participants and organizers to
make the publication of the photo on media associated with the competition.
The photograph must not, in the sole and unfettered
discretion of the Sponsor, contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually
explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content.
Winners may be asked to submit JPEG images of higher
resolution of their winning photographs for the purpose of publications and
exhibitions related to the competition.
Submitted photographs will not be returned under any
circumstances.
By entering the Photography Competition, participants
acknowledge, and certify that the submitted photograph is an original work
created solely by the participant, that the photograph does not infringe on the
copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or
intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party
has any right, title, claim, or interest in the photograph.
